I thought I would throw out some art tips…
When doing a painting…do the sky first…If you want your sky scene to seem more luminescent…use thin washes of color with not a lot of white (white is pretty opaque…will make canvas not show through as much). Thin washes layered will let white of canvas show through…therefore making your sky more vibrant…

Quick tip for those wanting to learn how to use the graphic art program GIMP…Go to Youtube…you can put GIMP tutorial in your search and it will bring up multiple videos of how to create things using GIMP. This was very helpful for me who needs to see it done instead of just reading how to do it…
I made this video for my Art 106 course. The video is basically a glimpse into my daughter and I creating a piece of art in our home. One of the things I love the most about my family is we are very chilled…We do not worry about our house being immaculate…or acting a certain way…or not being able to eat in the living room…etc…I also cherish the fact that my daughter inherited some of my artistic ability and love of all things creative…she is an amazing artist already at 16…Enjoy this little video of us working on our art (two day period this was filmed over).

In my Art 106 course …We had to make a movie …this was my first try at making a movie using Windows Live Movie Maker…We had to use a minimum of three clips from certain sites…and I also used images from historical public information sites and using GIMP. I could not figure out how to do music only in places where I had pics…but it still is kind of cool…The theme was the hypocracy of media in the 50’s and 60’s when showing American values and life…in comparison to the real world.

In my Art 106 course we studied two artist this week…My fav is Isaac Julien…His videos are stunning…Very intense contrast in using black and white…mixing in color scenes…His subject matter is the interaction of people and social issues…His work is very dramatic…Love it.
